Mission Statement
At Burbank Islamic Center, our mission is to serve and empower the Muslim community through worship, education, social programs, and community service. We are committed to fostering unity, compassion, and mutual understanding with our neighbors and interfaith communities.
Our History
Burbank Islamic Center was established in the summer of 2012 in response to a growing need for a dedicated place of worship and community gathering for Muslims in Burbank and the surrounding Valley area. What began as a modest prayer hall for daily prayers and weekly Friday services has grown, by the grace of Allah, into a vibrant and welcoming masjid supported by dedicated volunteers, families, regular attendees, visitors, and community members of all backgrounds.
Since its founding, the Center has been blessed with steady growth and meaningful improvements. Through the generosity and support of the community, Burbank Islamic Center expanded its facilities to include a multi-purpose room, a spacious women’s prayer area, improved restroom facilities, and convenient wudu stations. The Center has also enhanced its outdoor and community spaces by expanding the parking area, creating a children’s playground, and continuing to develop new projects that serve the needs of the community.
The journey of Burbank Islamic Center is a testament to Allah’s blessings and the dedication of a committed community. As the Center continues to grow, we look forward to building on this foundation by offering new programs, improving our facilities, and serving as a welcoming home
for worship, learning, service, and community connection.
Our Environment
We are one big family. Everyone who steps foot in the door at BIC is welcomed with an overwhelming hug and smile. Having a Bad day can turn out good by visiting BIC. If someone is stressed out, the atmosphere at BIC aids in creating an aura of hope & enthusiasm. We encourage brotherhood and sisterhood. We encourage questions and a free flow of thoughts. We love to hear from everyone, and we love to see the beautiful smiles. BIC is a friendly place where everyone feels part of an extended family.
Learn Who We Are
Burbank Islamic Center is about advancing the Muslim ummah through the youth. We follow the Quran and Sunnah of our beloved prophet (peace be upon him). Through his example and the teachings of Islam, we believe that “Everyone is Welcomed”, regardless of any worldly label. We believe in developing an ummah that wants to take good and forbid evil. As such, we have invested in our youth. We believe that providing an environment conducive to learning and interacting with the community positively is beneficial and essential. We consider the future of our ummah and we keep that in mind when creating our programs.
